Probably an obvious question, but I will ask it anyway. Do you have any of the death certificates of any of them? The death certificate of my 2nd great grandmother gave me her place of birth, from that I was able to go back to the beginning of records in her German Village, and then discovered that she had emigrated to Australia earlier with her first husband and then gone back to Germany and had come out again when her brothers came.
