Hi, I also use my computer to research but have backed it up over the years with hard copy and folders. Takes up space and would be a bit of a cost if you do it all at once. I have been doing it this way for around 30 years. Some family history programs come with their own to do lists. Like John I also use Legacy 5.0, which has one. I do go back to my hard copy and have found occasional mistakes in the computer copy by doing so. My husband has over 5,000 names and also uses both systems. I started to do that, by printing out family group sheets and storing them in a folder, but then things changed so much that the hard copies were out dated. If my family could just put things on hold and not procreate my family tree would be so much easier!. I like the to do functions in Legacy etc, I'm just lazy cos I want it to tell me what I need to do. I used to have a program that used to show me which dates were missing for which people, but I can't remember what program that was.
