Folks, I am determined to pursue my research into Germans who came to settled in New South Wales in the 19th century. I have done some work on the Camden and Hunter Valley Germans and found it most enlightening. I know that I have only toughed the edge of the iceberg and there is much more to learn and tell. I plan to go to Sydney in the next coupe of months and do some on the ground research in the Camden valley area. Sydney is the one that has me baffled. Evidence suggests that there was a deal of German settlement around the Redfern/Petersham areas but I cannot pin it down to any family or circumstance. I also have reason to believe there may have been some movement along Villawood Road area heading into Parramatta but again cannot pin anything down. I know the area is rather broad and that does not help. If anybody can give me any clues on this I would welcome it and be most appreciative. Albert Grulke in hot sunny Melbourne
