Her name was Auguste (maybe middle name Emily) HONIG. The only information I have is that she was born in about 1836 in "Germany" she was married in 1853 in South Australia. I have also found a sister Amelie Maria Magdalena Honig who may or may not have come at the same time. Their father was Louis Phillipe Honig and mother Caroline (Jung) Honig. I do not know if the parents or any other siblings also came to Australia. I cannot find Auguste on any of the shipping lists on line the only Honigs I have found came too late for the 1854 marriage (Dochenhuden May 1853...a month after the wedding in S.A.) or the Herder (left in 1851) which lists an Auguste who seems to be a child aged 14 with a man old enough to be her father (but wrong name ..Carl) and two other children...ie.Dorothea and Georg. So they don't feel correct. I hope this is not presumptious to ask but I am really stumped. Sincerely JILL CUMMINS Frankston Victoria
