The remedies and cures that our ancestors used to treat ailments. I know that there may have been as many remedies as there were grandmothers but I also know that many worked. 2. I am seeking to learn about some of their customs, habits and traditions. I have been working for the past 6 or 7 months on the German settlement into New South Wales and have in part written in draft form at least a book about it. I am trying to create a picture of how our German ancestors lived before TV and us. I am aware that while the majority of listers seem to appreciate the sharing of these items there are some who feel it is not genealogy. Therefore anybody wishing to share this information might like to contact me off list. Personally I cannot see how you can divide history from genealogy. Foods, cures and habits all go to put meat on the bones. Thank you for your support in the past and for what might now come along. Albert Grulke in funny old Melbourne
