Hi Albert, Some of the information is basic bush lore and may not be German knowledge. My mother always told me that if a cloud has a green colour, not gray or black, then it contains hail. I still use this and have told others and they all find it to be factual. Never , ever, ever, touch a wounded or dead flying fox. This has turned out to be right as the saliva of flying foxes contains a disease that is very similar to rabies, and the only time most flying foxes will bite is when they are injured. I also have a cook book written in about the 1950's called the Barossa cookery book, it contains recipes contributed by Barossa ladies and includes their names and sometimes where they lived. Names include Hoffmann, Juttner, Kasselbaum, Keil, Politt, Hage, Heinze, Kowald, Eichele, Boehm, Schiller, Seppelt, Nietschke, Heggie, Stelzer, Schrapel, Obs, Kleemann, Heuzenroeder, Ronaque, Nettlebeck, Kappler, Salter, Kube, Miller, Hanisch, Bartsch, Riedel, Offe, Basedow, Rosenzweig, Karutz, Dernedde, Hartmann, Zilm and many others including Anglo names. Recipes include Honig Kuchen (Honey Cakes), Yeast Cake (Streusel), Wiener Torte, and lots of recipes for a Christmas/Wedding/Birthday Cake. Unfortunately it doesn't have an index for either recipes or contributors. I always feel I should make one for it. When time allows. I haven't given your book to Murray yet. He is much better at spelling than I ever will be.
