Edmund, Elizabeth, Caroline and Mahala together with Reuben and Cornelius arrived in Australia from Buckinghamshire England on the "Kate" on the 8 October 1851.     3. Hi Listeners Following are the details of the KADEL family I am researching: My great-grandfather Heinrich (Henry) Otto KADEL was born in Frankfort Am Maine, Hessen, Germany on 23 April 1835. He arrived in Sydney in August of 1858 on the William Kaisener (I haven't been able to find out any record of this vessel) . He married Elizabeth Thumb (or Damm, Daum) on 20 September 1858. They stayed in Brisbane town about 12 months, moved to the Condamine region for about 2 years where he worked as a boundary rider on various properties. He moved to Roma, Queensland in about 1865 where he worked on various properties and later became involved in the planting of the grape vines at Roma Villa. He died in Roma on 10 January 1924. Children of Henry Otto KADEL and Elizabeth KADEL KADEL, Wilhelmina Susanna b. 11 June 1858, was either lost in the bush or stolen by aborigines in about 1864 KADEL, Caroline (Bena) b. 22 Sept. 1860 in Condamine region of Qld.
