Hi, I have nothing to do with your family but the only Bischofswerda I can see is a largish town East and a little north of Dresden about 12 miles. Is this the right place? Hi Judy Holding - thanks for your info - the Anders you speak of are, I am sure, connected but my boy was born in 1810 in Klosterstrenz, Silesia Prussia (died Adelaide 13 Jul 1874) and Anna Katherina was born in Bunes, Hafea, Germany (died in Adelaide as Mrs Carl Friederick Robert Schneider 13 Apr 1908). I have been onto various sites to find where these villages are but to no avail to date - BUT the search goes on - and I will certainly check "Horses Harrows and Haystacks" thanks Chris
Hi Gail There is a August Klemmer for a naturalisation at the National Archives for 1858? I would assume he would be yours. www.naa.gov.au record search, guest search, type in surname and there he is. My great grandfather Johann Gottlieb Lehmann, with his wife, nee Caroline Sophia Amelia Lemm, migrated to Australia, leaving Bremen, Germany, on the "Leontine" in April 1848, together with children of his ? sister, their names being Frederich, Christian and Rosalina Hinneberg. Roots web has indicated that the father of Johann Gottlieb was probably Gottfried Lehmann born 22 February1797 (?1790), at Sawade-Crunberg, Silesia, Prussia, and that his wife was Anna Elizabeth Lehmann, nee Irmler. It would be very nice if I could get more details and go back further into the family. I have a detailed family tree of Gottlieb's descendants. Can anyone help? Jean at Buderim.

Hi team (this may be no use, but . . . as they say) I have several WORD files, with predictable names like Granny Smith. In each I put a brief note that I looked for Granny under Gypsy Migrants, at wwwxxx, and didn't find her. I give that a heading like, Not Gypsy, and make that a HEADING not a NORMAL line, then create a Table of Contents - (if you're a very new computer user, get someone to help you do this, then it's easy enough to maintain) - so when I open the file next time the Table of Contents says, Not Gypsy . . . . p 1 Not in TIMES obituaries . . . . p 2 Birth cert - have purchased . . .. p 3 and clicking on the page number takes me straight there if I want to refresh my memory, OR when I want to go back to that site in case more information has been added. And remember to back up the files on a disk, and keep it at a friend's house. Best of luck Migs Eder NZ -- Quote: There is no problem which cannot be made worse, especially if people claim there's no problem. - Modern / Trad.
Hi Ainslee, I asked this question on a list which relates to the program I use. I was sent a spreadsheet which seems pretty good (you need MS Excel to use it though). I can send it to you if you like. I note someone else uses a Word based solution. Personally I added another field to my family card (I use Reunion 7 for Macintosh) and I now have a "Research" and "Research Complete" fields for every person in my database. BTW I still have a small filing cabinet full of paperwork !! Hi - I am trying to ascertain whether Franz Anders and his wife Anna Katherina Greve have any connection with the Anders family (of farm machinery fame) in Freeling South Australia - he is my great great grandfather - his son Henry travelled to USA with his maternal grandmother in 1860 and returned to Adelaide with his wife Sophie Surganty from New York - would love to make contact Chris Anders-Tritt
