Hi, regards faded doc's...I have done the following with success. Photocopy them & make sure you enlarge them , tackle the language difficulties later. If possible, try to reproduce it in NEGATIVE FORM and then colour in the white writing in something like bright pink permanent marking pen . Many have asked for lookups to America. Can anyone do a lookup for a voyage to Australia? KLEMMER August, from Saxony, 31 yrs old, left a British port in 1854 bound for Victoria, Australia on the ship Carpentaria. It appears he again left a British port in 1872, at 50 yrs old, bound for Victoria, Australia on the ship Hampshire. Can anyone find either of his departures from Germany? Hi Val, Have you tried the Mormons web site www.familysearch.org/, at all? Click search for ancestors and then typing in the surname and clicking, Hungary you may find something there.! Hi, I've pretty much exhausted my search for ggggparent's Jacob & Barbara (Bauman) Gross. Jacob born abt. 1846 believed to be in Germany. Married Barbara May 26, 1868 . He died in 1925 & Barbara died in 1897, both in Austria, Hungary. The other side Franz/Frenz/Franciscus Moser born in Yugoslavia in 1854 & wife Eva Lechner Born in 1857 in Austria & died in 1930, both in Austria, Hungary. Married in 1880, we believe At St. Anna's in Glogon(j), Hungary. I'm trying to find any more information, so I can get farther back on any of these ggg-grandparent's. If SKS has any information, no matter how small, I would truly appreciate it. We can't trace Jacobus as being born in Austria & many people have suggested that Gross/Grosz is a German surname. My G Grandfather Johann Wilhelm Gabel & wife Emilie Marie Louise nee Hoffmann arrived in QLD 4 Oct 1877 onboard the Fritz Reuter ex Hamburg with their 3 children Paul 9y, Carl 8y (my Grandfather) and Emma 3y . Somehow got to Freeling where they owned land, then moved to Angaston and Moculta (Where I lived). Pauline Marie Emma Gabel born? died? married Ernst Gustav Hermann Glatz 26 of Penrice on 1 FEB 1896, son of Ernst Gustav Heinrich Glatz. If this is your Glatz, fantastic, as I have no info on this branch of the family and would love to exchange info with you. What I have been told is that brothers/uncles of my G Grandfather arrived in Aust around the same time from the Dobersaul area of Germany , now Poland.
