    3. The State Library of Queensland has produced a Convict transportation register on line which gave me 77 convicts named FOWLER transported between 1787 and 1867. The Tasmanian archives also give FOWLERS sent to Tasmania between 1823 and 1850. The Tasmanian site has references and links to further information about the convicts including a digitalised volume on conduct records. Very interesting but 188 unindexed pages takes a fairly long time to download and browse page by page. I am sure some lister has followed these links before and may care to share their experience on how to find the most information on line. I'm happy enough to visit a library or family history centre but I'm a fair way away from a large centre and I'd like to know what to look for before I arrive. TIA Ted
