Even in 2008 to drive from Cootamundra to Bombala would be a reasonable journey ??? This doesnt give good vibes Have you considered the death record of a John HAYNES who d Murrumburrah in 1877 age 71 ?? Thats not many Ks from Cootamundra ? Do you have any doc that records his age at any time ? . > I've looked at several convicts named John HAYNES arriving in > Tasmania but > have been unable to verify that any of them are the John we seek. > Where can > I search for other arrivals in Victoria pre 1849? A John HAYNES arrived in NSW in 1836 on the 'Duchess of Northumberland ' ?? Since his marriage record has his surname as AYNES have you considered HAINES ? I think this might be one of those 'get copy of any available doc' that is affordable bye MargM Beautiful Wyong Shire NSW

    3. Thanks, Marg. That was the first possible death certificate I purchased many years ago. It's not his. I also obtained the convict record for John Haynes who arrived in VDL on the Lord Lyndoch in 1836. That John was 19 when he arrived. One of his jobs as a convict was cutting down trees and this was how the John in Bombala died. However, this John Haynes gave his native place as Bristol. Thanks to Rob also. The branch of the family who settled in the Forbes area spelt their name "Haines" so yes, that could be how his name appears on any document. I have the birth certificate for Maria and she was born in the Maryborough District of Victoria. Thank you both so much Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "MargM" <genknut@exemail.com.au> To: <aus-convicts@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 7:50 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-CON] John HAYNES- Bombala ?? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Neil & Jan Hearn" <neil.hearn3@bigpond.com> > To: <aus-convicts@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 6:45 AM > Subject: Re: [AUS-CON] John HAYNES > > Hi Jan > >> .
