Hi Louise, > ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH MARGARET MANSFIELD MARRIED MARCELLAS DAY 26 SEPT 1825 AT ST LUKES CHURCH IN LIVERPOOL, THEN IN 1827 MARCELLAS WAS CONVICTED OF STEALING A PIG AND SENT TO MORETON BAY,THEN HOOKED UP WITH Charles BLINMAN - convict arrived 15 April 1815 on `Indefatigable' and had 5 children to Margaret Day nee Mansfield. > Five children? I only have four: Mary Ann b 12 Oct 1828 Charles John b 1833 Elizabeth b 13 Mar 1835 George b 25 Nov 1838 Only these four are mentioned in his Will, which is undated (in the transcription I have), but mentions his son George BLINMAN, born 25 Nov 1838, so was obviously written after that. So, were more children born after the Will was made? Possible - Charles died 16 December 1842, and the last child born to Margaret DAY was born two days after that - 18 December 1842. Possible, I guess, that Charles simply did not update his Will to take account of the last two children ... but why was Margaret omitted from the Will, if she was still alive and bearing him children? Male chauvinism? (But even Shakespeare left his wife his second-best bed) :-) Cheers, Lesley (In cold, windy Melbourne)
