    3. G'day... I'm still searching for records for my ancestor, John HAYNES (or HAINES) who married Mary SLOMAN in Melbourne in 1849. Their five children were born in different mining towns in Victoria. Children's names were Emma, Francis, John, Elizabeth and Maria. After Mary died in 1860, the remaining family came to NSW, some of them settling around Cootamundra, Temora and Forbes. Some of Frank's children were born at Mandauba and Tulloona Station. I have read a little about Jack Haynes Cottage at Saumarez, near Armidale and wondered whether there could be a connection. It was said to have been built by ticket-of-leave Builder of this name who lived for years on the property with some of his family and the White family.. As gold was not discovered til 1851, he was in the country before this happened, although he subsequently spent much of his life searching for it and son, Frank, lived at McHenry's Creek near Lambing Flat Gold Mines. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jan
