    3. Kerry Just in case you don't know where Queen's Connty is/was (I didn't), it is in Ireland and was renamed Co Laois with Irish Independence in 1922. I looked up William Jardine (a very Scottish name) on the National Archives of Scotland online catalogue and came across one reference to a William Jardine between 1836 and 1838. This was the trial of a William Jardine in Dumfries for aggravated assault. He was convicted on 17 September 1836 at the High Court in Dumfries and was "outlawed and put to the horn". He had previous convictions for assault. It is just possible that he made the short boat trip to Ireland after his conviction.
