My hubby's mum was a WELLS, from Sorell. Original pioneer in her family -John WELLS - was a convict on the Dromedary and his family settled in Sorell, Tas. Also, supposedly, on same ship/boat was William WELLS. He too, for a brief time was in Sorell. I don't think these guys were related. 'Our' John was born in Birmingham 1804 and William, I think, in Lincolnshire. Have a few details also of a William WELLS, again unrelated, in the Channel area if this may help you - or anyone. John WELLS Snr married Mary NEWPORT, dau of convict John NEWPORT and William WELLS married Elizabeth ENO, convict, also from Lincolnshire. Happy huntin'. Regards always Lynne in Tas. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-CONVICTS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message No virus found in this incoming message.
