Greetings to ALL on this wonderful list and a very warm welcome to any new members, especially those who may be, like me, enthusiastic but novice genealogists. I have been on this list for the last 5 or 6 years and have derived the utmost pleasure and fascination for the subject of our convict ancestors; and this despite the fact that a wonderful Australian list member ( Joan Proud) advised me three years ago that my convict never actually left the UK! I have stayed on the list ever since simply because I have enjoyed reading the history, the information and the exchange of ideas.
