Hi List, I've been chasing this reprobate around the NSW indexes for some time now and have a reasonable record for him. I have birth 1806, marriage, conviction and transportation. His Tkt of Leave, name of partner and birth and death of children, subsequent convictions upto 1879 at age of 73 for stealing horse and saddle for which he got 12 months hard labour and his picture taken. His age was shown as 65 but his date of baptism was 1806. AKA John Bunion and John Parsons, and there the trail stops. His time in Australia seems to have been spent entirely in the Mudgee - Bathurst area. I can't find any record of his death or burial. Would there be a record of his release if he didn't die in prison? I'd be grateful for any information from somebody with more skill and knowledge than I have (I'll even settle for luck).
