Thanks for the quick reply. I have not checked the Indent for the "Elizabeth" where could I do that?? I have looked at the others, not sure about the Colonial Sec Reels, could you tell me how to access these. I know that he was assigned to Joseph Onus, but cannot find out a great deal more. He died in 1886 and his death certificate revealed very little other than born in England. I was hoping there may be more info on the sources given when he was assigned etc. Thanks, Janice ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lesley Uebel" <ckennedy@bigpond.net.au> To: <aus-convicts@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2009 3:50 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-CON] Edward Taylor > Hi Janice > > Have you checked the Indent for the "Elizabeth" > > Have you checked the 1822 General Muster, the 1823/4/5 General Muster > List, the > 1828 NSW Census, the 1837 General Return of Convicts ? > > Have you obtained a copy of his Conditional Pardon? > > Have you checked the Colonial Sec. Hi Janice The Indents are available on microfiche and are available at many large libraries in NSW, many State Libraries and probably at some family history groups etc. The Col. Sec. films are part from the ARK series of films produced by the NSW State Records, and again are available at many large libraries. It is best to check these as sometimes you will find the information on the Index is in error. You could also check the post 1825 Col. Sex. Index produced by Joan Reese..... available on microfiche Although he was assigned to Joseph Onus in 1822, that does not mean that he stayed with him for any length of time. The type of information you will find on the Indent for his transports is as follows: Ship .. Elizabeth I (3) Arrived Port Jackson .. 30 December 1820 From: .. England Tons .. 482 Master .. William Ostler Surgeon .. Samuel Alexander Name .. Yes Convict Number .. No Where Tried .. Yes When Tried .. Yes Term .. Yes Native Place .. Yes Age .. Yes Height .. Yes Complexion .. Yes Hair colour .. Yes Eye colour .. Yes Calling .. Yes Crime .. No Previous Convictions .. No Education .. No Religion .. No Marital Status .. No Family M/F .. No How disposed of .. No Other Remarks .. No TOL/CP/AP .. Yes Colonial Sentence .. No Ticket of - Leave / Exemption .. No Pardons - Conditional / Absolute / Colonial .. No Certificate of Freedom .. No Dead or Left Colony .. No Miscellany .. No Regards Lesley Uebel mailto:ckennedy@bigpond.net.au CLAIM A CONVICT http://users.bigpond.net.au/convicts/index.html -----Original Message----- From: aus-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of John & Janice Taylor Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2009 4:34 PM To: aus-convicts@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-CON] Edward Taylor Thanks for the quick reply.
