Hello Crew,  I am looking for Ideas on how to trace an Ancestor by the Name of Heny Coleman who was tried at Leicester Court on 23rd March 1797 and subsequently transported to Sydney on the 'Barwell' on 18th May, 1798.  I have contacted the relevant Archives in the U.K. to be told that the records for that location and time have been destroyed. He must have been 'Held' somewhere between the Trial and his departure on 7th November, 1797.   Does anyone have any ideas on where I should look next to find his Family.  All help will be greatly appreciated.  Brian Coleman Stay connected to the people that matter most with a smarter inbox. He would almost certainly have been held at Leicester Prison for a while and then transferred to Prison Hulks - I don't know where the nearest Hulks were moored - perhaps they would have taken him to London (there were several moored on the Thames). I believe some of the Hulk registers still exist although I have not traced them yet.
