Thanks Lesley, Yes, I know those dates - sorry - I made an error. Trial 1786 and then Ruthin Gaol until sent to join the second fleet. Books and records say different things. In the Gov. Hunter's report Sarah Evans same county of origin, trial date and vessel is shown as having married and settled. There is a record of a wedding of a Sarah Evans with James Stewart at Parramatta in 1791. Ony two Sarah Evanses are shown as "arriving" by that date. The other is recorded as someone else's concubine. There is also a pardon in our National Archives. Yet no record has been found here in Denbighshire of Sarah's death. Generous listers, like I said, especially Brenda, have helped me with books and records and the confusion is left. That is our problem; certain researchers/writers believe they DID leave UK, others believe they did not and that's why I am asking if anyone has actually traced their descent from these women. And also whether they then would be interested in the info we have about their time embroiled in the Welsh legal system. I appreciate your response, Lesley, and thank you very much for checking the books. Sorry again for the typo - that's what happens when you work from memory at my age! Thanks again, Best wishes from a damp and cloudy North Wales, Christine
