Hi List Enquiring re Isaac NOWLAND,born Ireland 1778, who is on Peter Mayberry's list as arriving in 1813 after an Old Bailey Trial (documented) for forgery in 1812. He may or may not have had a child, Mary baptised (RC) in Sydney in 1841. Cannot find a Conditional Pardon, any Ticket of Leave or any Permission to Marry - this fellow is a phantom. There is a man of the same name having children in Tasmania from 1871 to a Sarah Rowbotham and common sense says that this is the son, if he is related at all! Then an Isaac NOWLAND died in the Depot in Launceston in 1899 aged 75 "free by servitude","born Ireland). There is also an Isaac Nolan passenger, aged 32, from Melbourne to Sydney in 1856 -This surely has to be the one who married Sarah eg born aby 1824/1825. This one is driving a couple of us crazy - we have done extensive seaches in the Tasmanian records but no luck. Can anyone assist please. Sharon
