Hi, just wondering if you could help me please. I am trying to find the records for a Sergeant Henry Woods. Henry enlisted in Armagh, in 21/5/1827. He then sailed from England & went to Hobart. He sailed on the ship "Runnymede" in 1840. I am trying to get his enlistment papers so I can find out what information I can. Thanking you. Glenys in Mandurah.
Hello Glenys This is a link to the online catalogue of the UK National Archives at Kew, London. At the foot of the page is a reference to the service documents of Henry Woods from Castle Blayney, Co Monaghan who enlisted in 1827 and was discharged in 1849. If this is your Henry you can order copies of the papers from the National Archives. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/search/search_results.aspx?&st=a&queryText=%22Henry+Woods%22+&queryType=ALL&dateFrom=1827&dateTo=1840&selectedSubjects=C10001 Regards Rhoda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenys Woosnam" <granny.woo@bigpond.com> To: <bmchapman@primus.com.au>; <aus-convicts@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 06, 2009 11:13 AM Subject: [AUS-CON] RECORDS. > Hi, just wondering if you could help me please. > I am trying to find the records for a > Sergeant Henry Woods. > Henry enlisted in Armagh, in 21/5/1827. > He then sailed from England & went to Hobart.
