    2. Sue Olsen
    3. Hi All, Should anyone require a lookup for BRISBANE DEATHS 1824-1856 this compilation of all available sources to deaths in the Moreton Bay region in the time of convict days up to early settlement might be able to provide some missing information.. whilst it is possible that some have slipped through it is due to the lack of records. Lookups are available. Regards Sue.

    3. Hi Joe, To make links like this you need to work backwards, starting with what you have, and confirming it. You don't say if you have marriage and death certificates for you g-grandfather- if not you need them. They might give a place of birth and confirm his age.... if you're lucky will give length of time in the colony By the 1860"s travel was relatively easy, and sea travel is more likely given the distance. The cost of it might mean that he wither had some money, or someone else did- like he had a job waiting and the employer paid his travel. rosie If ----- Original Message ----- From: "joe" <janddcrane@austarnet.com.au> To: <AUS-CONVICTS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 2:12 PM Subject: [AUS-CON] My possible great grandfather Joseph Millard was born inSomerset England in 1829 his parents were Stephen Millard andMary Foxwell > > > My possible great grandfather Joseph Millard was born in Somerset, England > in 1829 and his parents were Stephen Millard and Mary Foxwell. > > Joseph Millard arrived in Perth on the "William Jardine" as convict number > 1363 on the 1st August 1852. 3. My possible great grandfather Joseph Millard was born in Somerset, England in 1829 and his parents were Stephen Millard and Mary Foxwell. Joseph Millard arrived in Perth on the "William Jardine" as convict number 1363 on the 1st August 1852. He was given a Conditional Pardon on the 5th November 1859. My great grandfather Joseph Millard was married in Toowoomba, Queensland to Jane Underwood on the 26th June 1865. I have been puzzled for a number of years by: (1) If this Joseph Millard was pardoned in Perth in 1859 how and when did he travel from the west coast to the east coast of Australia. (2) Did Joseph Millard go from Perth to Sydney and then on to Toowoomba, Queensland. (3) I cannot find any record of Joseph Millard arriving by ship to Queensland. I have emailed Perth Prison and they could not tell me what happened to Joseph Millard once he was released from the Prison. He may have sailed from Perth or Albany WA. I have searched shipping records on the east coast but I have found no record of Joseph Millard arriving. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with suggestions or information that would assist me to settle this puzzle. Sincerely, Joseph Crane. janddcrane@austarnet.com.au
