    3. Hi, I'm still trying to find more info on my wife's grandfather William (LUM Chee). He was  born in Canton CHINA arrived as a 16 year old in 1884 (Ship unknown) first going to the Tingara tinfields, in the Inverell district, then to Brisbane, and afterwards to Toowoomba.He came to Dalby about 1889 and started a mixed business and he leased land from the council where he had a market garden on the Myall Creek.Changed surname by dropping the CHEW date unknown. He went back to China per HITACHI MARU on 25 December 1914 and returned to Brisbane per EMPIRE on 7 November 1915 (NAA #9110195, 170/87, J2483 )Nationalisation: Certificate # 18 Issued 30 Oct 1916 at Dalby QLD.(NAA # 6312848 BP 4/3) Alien Registration Certificate No 18 issued 30 Oct 1916 at Dalby QLD.Died: QLD BDMQ #327 Dalby Herald 22 Jan 1937 (Obituary)Mr Kwong Sang of Toowoomba (Honourary Consul in Australia for China) is his first cousin.Any information would be greatly appreciated.
