East Valley Tribune <www.eastvalleytribune.com> 8/29/2008 Conrad L. Atwood Conrad L. "Butch or Connie" Atwood, 65, of Mayer, Arizona passed away August 23, 2008. Conrad was born in Miami, Arizona to Lynn and Nadine Atwood. Conrad served four years in the Navy on the USS Regulus. After the service, he moved to Mesa and worked for Salt River Project 35 years before retiring to Mayer and fulfilling his dream of building his own home. Conrad was active in Lions Club International where he held several offices during the past 32 years. Conrad is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughters Michele, Susan, Ashley and Brittany; sister Carolyn and her husband Dave McMahon; sister Jean and her husband Bill Dunn; brother Don and his wife Paula; and son-in-law Owen Zorge. His sense of humor and his love of life were a source of admiration and strength to all who knew him. A celebration of Conrad's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Velda Rose United Methodist Church Moore Hall, 5540 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85205.
