Atwood, nee Lucas, 69, of Collinsville, Ill., born June 29, 1938, in Richwoods, Mo., died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 8:20pm, at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, Ill. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Atwood; her parents, David N. and Dora J., nee Wickerham, Lucas; two sisters, Thelma Thompson and Helen Arnold; three infant sisters, Cindy Jean, Juanita, and Anita; a brother, Richard Lucas; and an infant brother, Eugene. Surviving are her husband, George R. Atwood of Collinsville, Ill., whom she married on Aug. 2, 1958; her children, Ronald (Cheryl) Atwood of Caseyville, Ill., Charles (Peggy Werneth) Atwood of Caseyville, Ill., Kenneth (Diana) Atwood of Collinsville, Ill., Pamela (Tim) Moussette of Collinsville, Ill., and Tina (Barry Jones) Atwood of Belleville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Bobby) Hall of Collinsville, Ill., Patricia Robinson of State Park, Ill., and Janet Hammett of Missouri; three brothers, George "Duck" Lucas of Collinsville, Ill., Thomas Lucas of Pierron Ill., and Harold "Dean" Lucas of Collinsville, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
