ATWOOD, ARDIE F Rancho Bernardo/San Diego San Diego Union-Tribune <www.signonsandiego.com> 5 December 2008 Ardie F. Atwood passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2008. Ardie was born January 21, 1920, in Liverpool, England. Ardie, his wife Gwladys, along with their family, immigrated to the USA in 1957. Ardie met his future bride to be, Gwladys, in 1936. The courtship lasted five years, they were married on December 30, 1941, and they remained inseparable for almost 67 years of marriage. Ardie was a tool and die maker for 51 years and was employed by General Motors, Convair, General Dynamics, and Hewlett Packard. Ardie is survived by his devoted wife, Gwladys, son Alan and wife Sue, daughter Beryl and husband Ron, son Steve and wife Susie, and son Ricky and wife Judy. He is also survived by granddaughters Chris and Heather. He was preceded in death by grandson Aaron. Ardie will be interred at El Camino Memorial, Sorrento Valley. Contributions may be made in memory of Ardie to Sharp Hospice of San Diego, who cared so lovingly for him in his time of need.
