    3. Rutland Herald <www.rutlandherald.com> Aug 15, 2008 Atwood, Joshua R SPRINGFIELD - Joshua R. Atwood, 21, died Aug. 10, 2008, in Springfield. He was born Sept. 17, 1986, in Claremont, N.H., the son of Brian Atwood and Kimberly Daniels, and attended schools in Springfield, Weathersfield and Chester. Most recently, he was employed as a caregiver with HCRS in Springfield and had joined the Army National Guard in May. Mr. Atwood was active in karate and had achieved a 6th degree blue belt studying at National Institute of Modern Martial Arts in Claremont. He enjoyed video games, computer games, world of war craft and Dungeons and Dragons. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Stephen King and Harry Potter books. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Gregory Farrar, of Proctorsville; his father of Lebanon, N.H.; a brother, Kevin Atwood of Springfield; a half-brother, Timothy Wright; three stepsisters, Heather, Phylicia and Sabrina Farrar; maternal grandparents, Peter and Carol Daniels of Weathersfield; paternal grandmother, Nancy McCoy of Cornish, N.H.; maternal great-grandmother, Agnes Hall of Florida; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call for a celebration of his life from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Davis Memorial Chapel. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HCRS Brick by Brick Program, in care of Elizabeth or Rusty Baker, 390 River St., Springfield, VT 05156. Rutland Herald 8/15/2008 Notice: Atwood, Pvt. Joshua R SPRINGFIELD - The celebration of life service for Pvt. Joshua R. Atwood, 21, who died Aug. 10, 2008, was held Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. Family and friends officiated. Burial followed in Bow Cemetery in Weathersfield. Military honors were provided by Camp Johnson Military Funeral Honors Detail of Colchester. Sgt. Eric Tunkel sounded taps. Bearers were Jeremy Holmes, Shad Wright, Mike Sartwell, Travis Wilcox, David Hall and Richard Gilbert.
