Atwood ATWOOD, MILDRED M. - Of Leslie, passed away at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility on Monday, October 6, 2008, at the age of 97. Surviving are ten grandchildren, Tim (Rosemary) Atwood, Donald (Carol) Atwood, Linda (Scott) Grostefon, Mary (Earl) Ellsworth, Karen (Larry) Cobb, Deanna (Tim) Root, Richard (Debbie) Atwood, Barb Crowley, Kevin Atwood, and Cynthia Atwood; 27 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; sister; two daughters-in-law; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; three sons, Kenneth, Lyle, and William Atwood; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the J.C. Adams Funeral Home, Leslie Chapel, on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Toby Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association or to the Jackson Salvation Army.
