Kansas City Star <www.kansascity.com> 28 Nov 2008 Lucie Ellen Atwood Lucie Ellen Atwood passed into eternal rest on November 27th, 2008 and is already missed by family and friends. Lucie was born November 29th, 1915 to Ernest Joe and Dersie Paxton in Wheatland, Mo. She became a schoolteacher at Wheatland Public School until the advent of World War II when she moved to Kansas City to work for Russell Stover. Lucie was the author of the family history "Twentieth Century Paxtons", and other books and short stories. Lucie married R. Ira Atwood in 1952 and they remained devoted partners until 2007 when he preceded her in death. Lucie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, D. Louise Sieker and William H. Sieker of Liberty, Mo., along with three grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren. Services will be Sunday, November 30th at 2:00 p.m. in Wheatland, Mo., at Hathaway-Peterson Funeral Home, with interment immediately afterward in Collins, Mo., at Robinson Cemetery.
