She was retired from Falls Savings and Loan with 20 years of service and was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge. Joann loved animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Atwood. She is survived by her sons, Fred Kalail, Jr. of Tallmadge, Scott Kalail of Akron, and Kraig Kalail of Brimfield; step daughters, Lorain (James) Ingrasci of Buffalo, New York, Michelle McGuire of Tallmadge, and Diane L. Smith of Austin, Tx.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie, Meghan, Sarah, Erica, and Dustin; sister, Chris (Jon) Mosey of Akron; half sister, Barbara Westbrook of Belton, Tx.; and sister in law, Carolyn (James) Mackey of Tallmadge. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday November 13, 2008 at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Dr., Tallmadge with Rev. Dr. John Schluep officiating. Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery. Friends may call 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday November 12, 2008 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to the service at the church.
