Helen Marie Atwood The Hartford Courant <courant.com> 11 Mar 2009 ATWOOD, Helen Marie Helen Marie Atwood, 73, of the Elmwood section of West Hartford died Sunday (March 8, 2009) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Sharon, daughter of Elizabeth LaChance and James Beluschi. Helen was raised in Terryville, was a graduate of Terryville High School and has resided in West Hartford for the past 33 years. Prior to her retirement in 2001, Helen was employed for 30 years by Fleet Bank, now the Bank of America and had been a communicant of the Church of Saint Brigid, West Hartford for many years. She is survived by her son, John P. Atwood of Brooklyn, NY and her daughter, Vallerie A. Atwood of Bristol; her brother James J. Downing and his wife, Judith of Hyde Park, NY; a step-sister, Lenore Abreu of Enfield and a nephew, Richard J. Downing of Clinton Corners, NY. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Church of Saint Brigid followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
