Elizabeth King Atwood Richmond Times-Dispatch <www.timesdispatch.com> 12 June 2009 ATWOOD, Elizabeth King, 84, of Richmond, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edwin Lee Atwood. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lee Atwood Smith; grandson, Jeffrey Alan Smith; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Courtney Smith; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her loyal companion, Sophie. Mrs. Atwood was born December 13, 1924 in Rileyville, Va. Mrs. Atwood worked for Liggett and Myers Corporation as an inspector for many years. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mechanicsville Chapel Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Graveside services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Foundation for the Blind.
