The Edwardsville Intelligencer <www.intelligencer.com> 14 Nov 2009 Linda Kay Atwood, age 61, of Staunton, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of the late Guy and Zelah Whitaker Clark. She married Michael Atwood on Nov. 15, 1969, in Collinsville. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter: Michelle Kreger, and husband Lance, of Staunton; two sons: Kyle Atwood of Staunton and Tyler Atwood of Staunton; three grandchildren: Brittani, Dakota and Kane Kreger all of Staunton and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins other family members and dearly loved friends. She was most recently employed as a dispatcher for the Staunton Police Department. She was a member of the Macoupin County Genealogical Society, Staunton American Legion Auxiliary, Staunton V.F.W. and Police Department Teamsters Union. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home with the Rev. John Heater officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to the Staunton American Legion Scholarship Fund.
