The Standard-Times <www.southcoasttoday.com> 11 Dec 2009 Rachel A. Atwood DARTMOUTH - Rachel A. (Lofthouse) Atwood, 73, of Sea Breeze Drive, Dartmouth, died Thursday at home. She was the wife of Robert E. Atwood. She was born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph & Emily Lighthouse. She worked in the dietary department of various nursing homes, and also worked in the Rodney Metal Venetian Blind Division for many years. She enjoyed Bingo. The family wishes to thank the Community Nursing and Hospice Nurses and caregivers for their love and support, and also the great care provided. Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Dale Atwood of North Dartmouth, Derek Atwood of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Donna L. Furtado and her husband, Jay of North Dartmouth, Diane and her husband, Bob Tivey of Lakeville; 2 sisters, Ellen Furtado of Dartmouth, June Costa of New Bedford. She was the grandmother of Brittany Tivey, Robert Tivey, Dustin Furtado, Shawn Furtado, Katie Furtado. She was the sister of the late Samuel Lofthouse, Robert Lofthouse. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00am from the Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts, followed by a funeral service at 9:00am in St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 136 Rivet St., New Bedford.
