RBP - I believe this is Vida Mae Markham, daughter of William and Martha ( ) Markham of Doniphan (Hall), Nebraska. I also believe her husband was a Maynard Donald Atwood, adopted son of Almon C Atwood of Wisconsin. Can anyone confirm these relationships ? The Fresno Bee 4 January 2009 Vida Atwood Vida M. Atwood died peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2008, after a brief illness. Vi enjoyed 95 years of life during one of the greatest generations of change. Vi was born on a farm in rural Nebraska in 1913. She was the eleventh of 12 children. Vi left Nebraska for San Diego, Ca., on December 26, 1937, where she met the love of her life, Don Atwood. They were married in 1938. Vi and Don were married for 38 years before he died in 1976. Vi was a devoted friend and someone who truly cared for others. She is remembered fondly as someone who never became angry and who never had a negative comment about anyone. Vi was a kind and gentle person who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her son-in-law, Jim Logan. Vi was a loving mother to daughter Barbara Logan; son and daughter-in-law Dave and Jeanne Atwood and their children, Matt and Cameron.
