*Skagit Valley Herald <www.skagit.com> 11 Mar 2010 MARGIE F. ATWOOD SWANSON (1924 - 2010) Margie F. Swanson went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 7th, 2010. Margie was born April 9, 1924 in Youngstown, North Dakota. She was the 8th child ( out of 14 children ) born to Joseph and Magdalena Mosbrucker. She was 85. Margie came to Stanwood with first husband Robert ( Bob ) Atwood, lived in Cedarhome until his death in 1966. Margie married her second husband, Lyle Swanson on July 8, 1968. Lyle passed away in 2003. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Mike & Cheryl Miller of Camano Island; her grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, which she dearly loved: Paul & Tami Baughman of Mill Creek, and Troy & Jerrah Miller of Snohomish; great-grandchildren, Isaac & Ryan Baughman of Mill Creek, Dane Miller of Snohomish; and her fourth great-grandson, Mason, will be born on May 22nd. Margie had many brothers and sisters who she loved very much. She had 4 brothers: John of North Dakota, Chris of Oregon, Ray of Marysville, and Matt of Marysville. Margie had 4 surviving sisters: Rose Malmgren of Gig Harbor, Jenny Morgan of Stanwood, Clara John of Deer Park, and Bertie Jackson of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 sisters: Barbara Fisher, Marie Schutt, Florence Harrell, and Eva Mosbrucker. Margie ( Nana ) was a very active person. She was 85, but still enjoyed getting up every morning and going to work a few hours at Camano Plaza. She worked in the Deli making soups, etc. She loved seeing customers and being around people. Marge was a very giving and thoughtful person. She will be dearly missed by all. There will be a viewing at Gilbertson Funeral Home between the hours of 9:00A.M. & 4:30P.M. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15, 16, 17. A celebration of life will take place at Camano Chapel, on Thursday, March 18th, at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, Margie would have liked a donation to American Legion Post #207, 608 S.W. Camano Drive, Camano Island 98282, or to your favorite charity.
