Atwood, 51, of 24 Winter Street, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. He was born in Bath, July 14, 1958. He was the son of Larry and Lorraine Arseneault Atwood. Michael graduated from Mt. Ararat High School in 1976. He married Cheryl L. Bruce in Brunswick, Nov. 27, 1982. He was employed at Bodwell Motors for many years and has worked at Jolly John’s in Saco for the past 12 years. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed camping and candlepin bowling at the Bowling Bowl league in Brunswick. He is survived by his wife of Topsham; his daughter, Amanda Hughen and her husband, Andrew of Lewiston; two brothers, Jim Atwood of Brunswick and Paul Atwood and his wife, Nina of Bowdoinham; a sister, Linda Coombs of Topsham; two nephews and a grandson, Rowen expected on May 6th. Friends are invited to visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Richard Hughen officiating.
