Lansing State Journal <www.lansingstatejournal.com> 29 January 2010 George Atwood IV U.S. Veteran Of Eaton Rapids Age 25, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wed. Jan. 27, 2010. He passed peacefully with his loving family by his side. George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the woods and the water and would spend hours hunting and fishing. His proudest moment was when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He couldn't wait to serve his country. Semper Fidelis. Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Monica Walker, grandparents Cathy & Fred Cogswell, Stan & Betty Walker and great grandma, Pauline Walker, very special uncle & auntie, Bob & Colleen Walker, cousins, Murphy, Chelsie & Robert who he had a very special connection with. Also his devoted and loving girlfriend, Ashley Jones and her family who George loved very much, plus many great aunts & uncles & cousins. George had many special friends who he loved to hunt, fish, golf and party with. George was preceded in death by his lil sis, Lexis Brianna, great grandpa Walker, great grandma & grandpa Long. Special thanks to Kathy O'Neil, the staff and patrons of the R-Club, whose support and love was very appreciated. Thank you to the Hospice of Lansing for their kindness and caring. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, 12:00 - 3:00pm at the R-Club, 6409 Centurion, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hospice of Lansing or your favorite charity.
