*The Record <www.recordnet.com> 17 Feb 2010 Archie William "Bill" Atwood (Nov. 1, 1919 - Feb. 15, 2010) Stockton, CA - Archie William "Bill" Atwood, 90, was born and raised in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High, class of 1937. He resided for the last 6 years at the Rio Las Palmas Retirement Community. Atwood Printing Company was founded in 1882 in Stockton by Archie William Atwood (Bill's father). His older brother Leroy and twin brother Burton operated the Printing Company until they retired in 1973. Bill used to be very fond of sailing and going with his brothers to the family cabin located at Echo lake (Atwood National Forest, Atwood Tract) in which their father was the first to build in 1921. A 90th birthday celebration in his honor was held last September with many of his friends and family in attendance. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Norma, who passed away in 2003, and his brothers, Leroy and Burton Atwood. Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Archie & Yolanda Atwood and daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Brent Seitz, grandchildren David Seitz, Stephanie Seitz and great-grandson Luccis Searcy age 6. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Frances Atwood (Burton Atwood deceased). Bill was a member of the Woodbridge Country Club, 20/30 Club, Rotary, and the Coffee Club. He also was member of the Navy League and would go out to Sea on excursions. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Archie & Yolanda's Home, 7454 Meadow Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Haggin Museum. *
