Atwood Swan Funeral Home <www.swanfh.com> 16 Feb 2010 Ann Walton Atwood, 72, of Westbrook, passed away on February 11, 2010 at Middlesex Hospital Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of the late Truman Walton and Rebecca Somonsky, Ann was born on April 20, 1937 in Middletown. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her step father Joseph Somonsky. A graduate from Morgan High School, Ann is a longtime shoreline resident. She spent most of her life being a caretaker, and also a volunteer at the Clinton Estuary Council and the local food bank. She was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church, and the Elks Club in Westbrook. Ann leaves behind her two sons, Eric Gustafson of Wellfleet, MA and Garth Gustafson of Old Lyme, CT. Also her brother Richard Walton and her sister Barbara Murphy. Family and friends may join for a graveside service on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 12noon in Indian River Cemetery in Clinton. All are welcome to join a Celebration of Ann's Life at Water's Edge in Westbrook, following the graveside service. Swan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
