    1. [ATWOOD] Atwood- CT to MICH
    2. Anyone have info on this line?: PHILO ATWOOD John and Martha's oldest child was born May 19, 1782, in Bethlehem, Litchfield, Connecticut. He married first Ms. Fairchild, and secondly by 1816 (per deed) Harriet Atwood (see Atwood family). According to the 1840 census of Woodbury, Litchfield, Connecticut he was 50 to 60 years-old, his wife was 40-50, they had eleven children, including a female, Harriet's (#113) age. He is not listed in the 1850 census. Harriet supposedly died when Harriet Maria was young, which if she died between 1840 and 1850, Harriet Maria would have been between 10 and 20. Harriet Atwood Atwood's Grandfather David Atwood left his daughter Abigail's share of his estate to her heirs (one-fifth each). In 1816 Philo and Harriet Atwood deeded the rights to the property that was left to her Grandmother Martha Atwood to Harriet's Uncle Elijah Dailey. Philo and Harriet's probable children: 1. Possibly, Abigail born April 4, 1816, she married July 6, 1847, John Tyler . 2. Minerva married Mr. Webster - had issue- Ellen md. Horace Andrus (had children- Clarence, Archie, Ward, Myrtle, Percy, Blanche md. Gilbert Blue), Viola md. George Washington Napoleon Bonaparte Hepler(had children- Myrtle, Arthur, Iva md. Mr. Ralston, Clifford, Chamberlain, Clara md. Mr. Hakes of Homer)- note that Philo had a sister named Minerva, so that helps support the contention of Minerva and Harrie being the daughter of Philo and Harriet. 3. Harriet, see below (#113). ELIJAH ATWOOD Elijah and Annah's son Elijah was born March 15, 1765. He was nicknamed "Hardhead." He married Abigail Atwood (see Atwood family). They had five children. She died January 29, 1834. Elijah and Abigail's children: 1. Washington Harry was born around 1788, he married Maria Stone, had issue- Mary md. Levi Crouch Jr., Edward md. Eliza Pitt, Walter, Henry. 2. David was born around 1791, he married Huldah Manvill, had issue- Henry md. Hannah Thomas, George, Charles md. Ms. Russell, Sarah, Elizabeth. 3. Harriet, see below. 4. Henry Clinton was born March 13, 1801, he married October 6, 1822, Jane Lum, he was the Inspector of Customs in New York City, after that he was a Surveyor and a Gauger, had issue- Charles W. md. Henrietta A. Hammond, Henrietta. 5. Annor "Abigail" married George Ketchum, had issue- Frederick, Mary, Rollin. I have a letter that refers to a round-robin letter written May 23, 1877, from Henry C. Atwood (as in Henry Clinton) to his sister Abigail, the other side is from Harriet M. Atwood, the letter says "I am at Samuels", "love to Frederick, and Wallace and his wife", and then says to "direct the letter to Dexter, Washtenaw County" but then says "I am coming back in the spring for I do not like Michigan", they also refer to "father not being well" another letter in the package that is addressed to Ridgeway, Orleans Co., New York says "Harriet is getting married" #227 HARRIET ATWOOD Elijah and Abigail's daughter Harriet was born around 1797. She married Philo Atwood (see Atwood family).
