Jim and Betty had two children, William Green, b. 1869, and Martha, b. 1871. After Jim died, Betty married a neighbor, Joe E. ATWOOD, she was his second wife. The story is that as Jim was on his deathbed, he sent for Joe, told him that he and Betty needed each other, and they married after Jim died, and they moved from Jasper County to Smith County. Betty was Joe's second wife, and one of their children was my grandfather, Mack C. ATWOOD. And Kenneth ATWOOD was a cousin of Joe ATWOOD's.
