S. Atwood, 1894 Addenda: Third Generation: Eleazer Atwood [3 Eleazer Atwood] was born in 1681 and was probably a grandson of Stephen, of Eastham, but no absolute proof of it can be found. His Father's name was Stephen, see page 4. Eleazer died May 25, 1729 - 48 years old according to the inscription on his tombstone still standing (1885) in the neglected old burying-ground on Mayo's Neck, Wellfleet. Beside it is the tombstone of his wife Joanna (Stout) whom he married in Eastham, May 31, 1709. She survived him and married (second) William Covell June 27, 1734, and died Jan. 16, 1736, when she was buried beside her first husband, Eleazer.
