Martin Seneca Atwood, my G-G-Grandfather, was not born in England as is stated in your query, he was born 30 Nov 1830 in Somerset or Dover Vt. His parents are John A. Atwood and Anna Copeland. Martin married Jane Maria Nye - 8 Feb 1850 at Hoosick Falls NY. Jane was born 14 jul 1827 at bennington, Vt. her parents are Pharez (Ferris, Phares) Nye and Rebecca Watson. I have submitted this families' information to R. Bradley Potts and it can be viewed on his "Atwood Family" Website.
