http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/mdbquery.html This is the web page for American Memory Collections. In the search engine I put in the word Atwood and came up with 62 documents that contain the word Atwood among them these: George Washington Papers Series 4. General Correspondence. 1697-1799 (Hard to read) John Atwood, July 22, 1777, Deposition on British Military Operations Ebenezer Atwood, July 17, 1777, Deposition on British Military Operations Print of W.Q. Atwood (1839- ), lumber merchant and orator. Freed from slavery by the will of his master (father), Atwood journeyed to Ripley, Ohio in 1853. He attended an African-American school in Ripley. The Abraham Lincoln Papers at the Library of Congress Series 1. General Correspondence. 1833-1916. David Atwood to Abraham Lincoln, May 23, 1860 (Congratulations) That's all I had a chance to look through. There's several stories or life histories given by people, govt. documents, newspaper articles, etc. that came up. I don't know if they're mentioning specific Atwoods or not but it's worth a look. Please let me know if anyone finds anything "good" that has to do with their Atwood. Gwen Brooks
