As far as I know by reading a book I bought from www.amazon.co.uk. the Atwood family lived in Sanderstead for over 300 years. As to a house, I believe there is a reference in the guest book of Sanderstead.com of people from Texas that went there last year saying it no longer existed. Hope this helps.
