From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Hi John, I am interested in your lineage. In my collection (now 168 sheets), I have Alonzo Terrell Atwood m. to Mary S. Barber. Is that an error? . . . No, Joanne, that is correct. Alonzo married Mary Sephronia Barber fist, joined the Mormon church and moved to SLC where he married my G-G-mother Elizabeth Geddes McLean on 9 Dec 1865 in SLC. (He was a Mormon Polygamist.) Simeon (his father)was b. 10 Sep 1814 in Mendon, Monroe, NY. Simeon's Parents were born in Berkshire Co., MA. Hezekiah in Hopbrook (Tyringham) in 1786 and Chloe Ann Rowley apparently in West Stockbridge abt 1792. His wife (Melissa Terrill) was born 24 May 1819 in Hinesburg, Chittenden, VT. They were married in Pomfret, Chautauqua, NY on 30 Sep 1834. My G-Grandfather Alonzo Turrell Atwood was born 19 Feb 1837 in Pomfret, and a brother (William) was born in Dunkirk, Chautauqua, NY. The family then moved to Franklin Co. PA (one brother Wlater Henry born in Concord) and then to Bradford or Crawford Co. PA where 3 more siblings were born. The last 4 siblings being born in Harborcreek, Erie, PA. They remained in Harborcreek until they emmigrated to Utah in 1862. (Both Simeon and Alonzo emmigrated.) I did notice that Orleans Co. is next door to Monroe Co. I don't have much info on the other siblings of Simeon as far as Marriages and Siblings go, but there could be some connection to your Josiah being only a county away. I would be happy to correspond and trade further information dirctly. (I don't think the list would appreciate any large files.) John.
