Joyce... I know I've suggested this before, but Charles Atwood b 15 Aug 1798 in Sutton (Caledonia), Vermont seems like the best candidate. For the other list members....He was the son of Peter and Abigail (Silver) Atwood. The other siblings were: Jesse, Lucy, Mary, Harriet, Hiram, Saphronia, Usama, and Sylvester. With so many in this family with unique names, I would think that they would be traceable. The only descendant of Peter and Abigail, that I have more information on was Hiram. He married 1st in 1825 in St Clemens, Michigan, Fanny Cook; and married 2nd in 1833 also in St Clemens, MI, Aurilla Douglas. Why was your GGF in Rockford, Illinois at the time of his death ? and Why buried in Nebraska ? There are a BUNCH of Atwoods that lived in the Rockford area, but I can't connect your Hiram Atwood to any of them.
