I'm only guessing, but since Hiram Henry Atwood (my G-Grandfather) married in Rockford, IL, to Sarah Elizabeth Mills, that he then left there and moved to New Richmond, WI sometime before 1878 where my grandfather was born. He then moved to Jerauld County, SD where the last of his children were born by 1890. He moved to Boyd County in NE in 1892. He returned to Rockford, IL in 1908. Hiram Henry Atwood and Sarah Elizabeth Mills had the following children: Carrie Elizabeth b. 1871 Rockford, IL Charles George 1876 Hiram Leroy 1878 New Richmond, WI Robert Alonzo 1882 New Richmond, WI Justin Thomas 1884 New Richmond, WI Grant Simon 1887 (Twins) Jerauld Co. SD Logan John 1887 (Twins) Jerauld Co. SD Sherman Tecumseh 1890 Jerauld Co. SD Hiram Leroy Atwood, (my grandfather) moved from SD to NE where most of his 14 children were born. They kind of moved back and forth from Winter & Carter, SD to Butte, NE and back and forth. Hiram Henry Atwood moved back to Rockford, Winn Co., IL after his children were grown in 1908. I believe that when he died in IL his son, my grandfather had him buried in the Cemetery in Anoka, Boyd Co. NE because there were other family members buried there by that time.
